Founded in November 2021, the Asians in Animation Writer’s Group is a tight collective of dedicated writers looking to reach the next level in their writing.
The group has a range of levels in our members, from beginners to working professional writers— including Emmy nominees!
All members go through an application and interview screen process and accept members on a rolling basis.
The group meets weekly to discuss writing-related topics and have writing workshops and sprints. They also provide feedback to each other and bring in guest speakers who have previously worked as writers for Warner Brothers Animation, Nickelodeon, Disney, DreamWorks, and Netflix.
Due to its popularity, AIA offers two cohorts: one accelerated, seasoned group and one group for writers early in their careers.

Writers group participants must be existing members of Asians in Animation.
We currently have a limited capacity, and are prioritizing membership from those able to actively participate and attend meetings. For Asians in Animation Members interested in writing, but that don’t have the time to commit to joining the group, we welcome all interested to attend our guest speaker chats as audience members.
