Nanami Yokota

菜々実
Community Director

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
Pronunciation: Nah-nah-mee  Yoh-koh-ta

What I Do: Community Development, Community Building, Volunteer Programming
What I Am: Japanese born, Philippines raised girl with a very deceiving Californian accent
Nanami is currently a Film student with a Writing and Literature minor and an honorable animation major (according to her friends) at California College of the Arts. Graduating this May 2022, Nanami has spent her time in college working on both 2D and 3D animation projects focusing on producing and production coordination. She hopes to break into the animation industry as a PA soon!

Nanami’s third-culture background and her work experience in education make her aware of the importance of belonging and creating diverse spaces. Her passion for communities influences her work both in her artistic practice and career. She views working in animation production as the perfect combination of being able to connect diverse artists together and creating a story. Nanami loves how animation can bring life to both drawings and people.

In her free time, Nanami has random hobby fascinations. Currently, she is extremely proud of her daily yoga streak and debating about investing in a bass guitar or bouldering shoes.

Say hi to her during an AIA community event or on
LinkedIn!
