Hello! My name is Vanessa “Vani” Nguyen and I’m currently a freelance artist for various mediums including animation, games, and live entertainment! My creative journey and career didn’t begin until after I had graduated university, which happened to be when the COVID-19 outbreak and quarantine occurred. With the original intent of going into graphic design I had interest in design, but had always wanted to work at an even more in depth level where story and visuals were tied together. With the uncertain, yet eye-opening quarantine period this eventually led me to decide to pursue a career in animation.
From then on I spent some years honing my skills and eventually I got my first gigs through commissions and several cold emails, which led to freelance projects where I got to flex my background art skills, as well as learn to adapt as a concept designer and illustrator for other works. Getting to work in various mediums has been an amazing experience and I know that I’m only at the tip of the iceberg.
