Stella ChenStoryboard Artist
Stella Chen is a Taiwanese-American story and visual development artist based in Los Angeles studying animation at the University of Southern California. Her passion is in creating authentic stories that empower minority voices and connect people through universal emotions. Her favorite genres are drama/fantasy and she excels in boarding emotional sequences with nuanced character acting. She also loves creating appealing characters and fantastical worlds through design. Her past credits include storyboard artist at the Entertainment Technology Center at USC, concept artist at the World Building Media Lab, and color designer at Chimney Animation. Her original film “Sunny Day” won an official selection at the DaVinci International Film Festival and was also screened in the AIA 2023 Summer Student Film Showcase. She looks to board for feature animation and is also open to any opportunities to tell stories full of heart. She is also the president of the Women in Animation chapter at USC and is on the lookout for talented guest speakers from the industry. She enjoys reading, hiking, and petting stray cats in her free time. She also loves meeting fellow creatives and talking about anything animation, story, or art related!
