Sarah Liu

Pronouns: She/Her/Hers
What I Do: Marketing Strategy and Development, Digital Communication
What I Am: Chinese American, avid mobile gamer, arthouse cinephile, music lover

Sarah graduated with a joint master’s degree in Global Media and Communications from the London School of Economics and Political Science and the USC Annenberg School. She currently works in entertainment market research at National Research Group, developing marketing and business strategies for TV series and digital services by Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Netflix.

From Studio Ghibli films to Honor of Kings, animation and animated content has always fascinated Sarah, opening up imaginative worlds and new interactive possibilities. She is now very interested in the future of the medium - how it permeates multiple industries and countries to stimulate global communication, cross-cultural understanding, and individualistic expression. She strives to help animation enthusiasts discover their potential in the industry and offer more actionable resources and insightful information with educational value.

Fun Fact: Without any documentary production experience, Sarah embarked on a memorable journey documenting the music-making struggles of Chinese urban folk music artists in Beijing. She also followed her lead music artist on tour to other cities around China and formed unexpectedly deep and meaningful bonds with a niche yet flourishing community.
