Katie DizonChief Strategy Officer
As Chief Strategy Officer of Asians in Animation, Katie Dizon is responsible for developing, communicating, and executing the organization’s overall strategy. She works closely with the Chief Executive Officer and overhead leadership to shape Asians in Animation’s vision and to translate strategic goals into actionable plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment across the organization as well as long-term success. She leads and facilitates organizational change to support the implementation of these new strategies and initiatives. Katie’s first initiative was the creation of Asians in Animation’s Animation Industry Immersive Lab and its flagship production programs.
Katie joined Asians in Animation in 2021 and previously served as Director of External Relations, which is now called Partnerships. In this role, Katie managed the organization’s interactions and communications with external stakeholders. Her duties included forming partnerships with various studios, organizations, and professionals to provide educational opportunities for members. She coordinated and moderated events including speaker chats, screenings, and mixers, and also sourced talent for studios. Outside of Asians in Animation, Katie is currently a Production Assistant at Sony Pictures Animation on “Motel Transylvania”, an upcoming series for Netflix based on the popular IP “Hotel Transylvania”. It is the first series from Sony. She began her career at Nickelodeon Animation, where she worked on “Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” as well as “Rock Paper Scissors”, the first series greenlit from Nickelodeon’s Intergalactic Shorts Program. Both of these premiered in 2024. Born and raised in Southern California, Katie attended California Lutheran University and received a degree in Multimedia with an emphasis on Visual Effects, Motion Graphics, and Animation. |
