Justin NiAnimator
I’m a graduate of Penny W. Stamps School Of Art & Design at the University of Michigan with a focus in animation. In 2022, I expanded on my senior thesis and created/directed a 2D animated short, MeiHouWang, that drew on my Chinese-American heritage. The film went on to feature in film festivals and opened doors for me to make friends with other Asian filmmakers and be inspired by other AAPI stories.
Since working on the short film, I’ve been able to participate on a number of other projects working freelance. Building experience in the industry and making connections through groups like AiA will hopefully push me closer to my goal of sharing stories about diaspora through animation. Currently, I’m based in LA looking for opportunities to transition into the entertainment industry. You can find my public work at jniart.weebly.com and my insta. Work 1 Work 2 |
