Justin DuongComposer
I was born, raised, and am still based in Philadelphia, but I am ethnically Vietnamese, and the oldest of immigrant parents. I started learning the violin at the age of 8, and piano at 10. I come from an eclectic musical background, from playing in the orchestra, to playing keys in jazz bands and my parents’ Vietnamese church choir. I fell in love with film and video-game music in high school, and I soon began to teach myself composition and production. I started off with small-scale passion projects, but have since gotten opportunities to write music for the Philly Ballet and the University of Pennsylvania, where I currently attend.
I am relatively new to composing for film in a professional setting, but I did score a 2D short “Thesis Defense” this past semester for Pencilbite Studios, an animation club at UPenn. I am a rising sophomore currently pursuing a B.A. double-major in physics and music. I am still breaking into the film scene and love working on projects such as these! I post some of my music to my YouTube channel as well as my website justinnduong.com. |
