John AoshimaCo-Director
John Aoshima, is an Emmy and Annies nominated Director known for Disney’s critically acclaimed hit series, Gravity Falls and Fox’s long running Primetime series, American Dad! John was born in Japan and raised in Southern California since the age of eight.
He has turned his passion for art and film into earning his BFA degree at CalArts. After a long career on hit television series such as Futurama, Ducktales 2017 reboot and Gravity Falls, he shifted his focus towards feature films and served as Head of Story on Laika’s Oscar nominated and BAFTA winning feature, Kubo and the Two Strings. John later joined Netflix Animation in 2018 and served as Sequence Director on the Annie and Emmy winning Limited Series, Maya and the Three. Later transitioned to the development of the CG animated feature film, Ultraman:Rising with Netflix and served as Co-Director on the film. John also spends his time developing his own series and feature projects. |
