Storyboard Artist

Hello, I’m Amelia Kim! I’m a storyboard artist and this fall I will be entering my third year studying animation at Sheridan College. I create stories that are funky, funny and full of heart!

​I’m from rainy Vancouver, Washington, where I attended a public arts magnet high school. I credit my wonderful educators there with introducing me to art in all different forms. I started out with graphic design and photography, and then moved on to making comics and animations.

Resources like Asians in Animation and The Animation Story Group have been huge factors in my path to animation. As a high schooler, I didn’t know a single person working in art, let alone animation! The summer after my senior year, I discovered my passion for storyboarding and have been glued to a tablet since.

​I continue to create comics and developed my first story portfolio last year. I just finished my first storyboarding position on an indie project! In my free time, I read everything from sci-fi to literary fiction, run a homebrew DND campaign, and watch lots of old movies.
