Alexander Yeh叶宇峰
External Relations Coordinator Pronouns: he/him/his Pronunciation: al-eks-zand-er yay / ye-yew-fung What I Do: External Relations What I Am: Chinese American, queer, and hilariously afraid of ovens Alex (or Alexander!) Yeh is an External Relations Coordinator for Asians in Animation. He currently works at Nickelodeon as a Production Intern on Transformers.
As a student studying Art and Animation at the USC Roski School of Art and Design and the School of Cinematic Arts, Alex has gone from doodling characters in the margins of his history notes to doodling those same characters except, like, to be critiqued and graded now (yikes!) He got his start in animation as a Character Designer at Toonstar, then hopped into the world of Artist Management helping Nickelodeon talent transition between projects and step closer to their animation goals. Alex has also worked as a Visual Development Artist at Kalliste Zoe Productions, and a 2D Animation Intern at Real Art Daily Productions. When he isn’t inching towards carpal tunnel, Alex teaches for the Critical Issues in Race, Class, and Leadership Education program and advises the Graphics team for the Student Coalition for Asian Pacific Empowerment at USC. Having lived in both San Francisco and Los Angeles, his passion for storytelling and animation stem from a desire to uplift marginalized voices and push the boundaries of accessible media. In his free time, Alex loves exploring cities with his trusty bike, Piper, trying (futilely) to get better at Super Smash Bros., and taking long nighttime walks. If AIA can ever be of help, don’t hesitate to reach out! |
